Pastor ElTyna McCree accepted her call to the ministry at the age of nine. It was at noon day prayer at First Church of God in Christ. Her first sermon 'The wedding at Cana'. God has been turning water into wine in her life every since. ElTyna was active in the national COGIC, and served as official Travel Coordinator, and Founder of the Business and Professional Assn of the International Youth Department. Pastor ElTyna has been exposed to myriad religious denominations, sitting under the ministry of Evangelist Jack Coe, A.A. Allen, and Kathryn Kuhlman. In the late 1960's, she preached on Hollywood and Vine in Los Angeles, as part of a Teen Challenge group. She has been a resident of Oakland, California for the past 40+ years. Her home church Love Center Ministries where she served as pastoral associate, events planner, and personal travel agent for the entire Hawkins Family gospel groups. She launched her first ministry 'Sharing and Caring Faith Outreach Ministry' in 1988, and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ by the late Bishop Elmer Elijah Cleveland Sr. In 2010, ElTyna added another entity to that ministry 'Help, I'm Hurting, the Healing Circle', to raise the level of awareness to suicide in youth, and to comfort families that are victims, this ministry has expanded due to enormous amounts of suicide in the African American community. ElTyna celebrated her 50th year in the airline/travel industry in 2016, and is called 'Travel Agent to the Stars'. She was featured in Upscale Magazine as a 'Power Broker for the New Millenium in 2000, along with such luminaries as Earvin Magic Johnson, the late Johnnie Cochran, and others as the oldest African American travel agent. Her awards are too numerous to mention. Her current affiliations are President, St. Luke Society a group of distinguished medical doctors, and ministers. Public Relations of the Homeboys Foundation (Dixon Family Philanthropic foundation. Public Relations Chair Black Wall Street. She serves as Chaplain for the Homeless Program of First Presbyterian Church of Oakland. ElTyna is the proud parent of two sons. Veteran football coach Tyrone Quentin and real estate executive D'Adria Dixon. Rev. Anton Roderic and Attorney Kimberlei Dixon. 5 granddaughters, and 3 grandsons. Her new book “Giant Steps in Quicksand' will be published later this year.
